It all started at a Monday Night football game in 2006. A group of men gathered for fellowship, Mountain Dew, Doritos and football. During halftime the suggestion was made that we should pray. As we began to pray an unusual, powerful, weighty, Kabod Presence of God entered into the room.  Men slid off the sofa and fell prostrate before the Lord. His Presence was so powerful and so holy we were afraid to even breathe. For over an hour we trembled under His awesome Presence. Not sure of what was happening, we knew that this encounter was something special.

The following Monday we decided to skip the game and pray. The powerful Presence of the Lord invaded our meeting again. From these encounters our Monday night men’s meeting was born. Through meetings where the only agenda was encountering the presence of God, lives have been radically changed and empowered. As news spread, men have come from across our region, some driving hours just to lie on our floor, get up, and drive home again.

From these meetings The Church @ New Bern was birthed, a church where we can experience a personal revival and our spirits are awakened by encounters with HIS Presence.

We are called “The Church @ New Bern” because we are called to be the church to our city, just as the early churches were (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, etc.). We are the bride of Christ and the hands and feet of Jesus… nothing more, nothing less. From the start our heart was to multiply this greenhouse-type structure.
